Online Reference Sources

Library members can access a large (and growing) range of online resources which are available even when the library is closed. For many of these resources, you will need to enter your membership number (prefixed by CLP). If you are not already a member, please visit any of our libraries or complete the online membership form.

A list of our online resources is available here and some of the most popular are picked out below.

General reference works

There are several groups of reference titles, for example:

Newspapers and magazines

Resources for business

COBRA is a resource to help people who wish to start a business or need business advice. EBSCO provides access to the contents of a wide range of academic journals, including sources of business information.

Resources for music lovers

Music enthusiasts might like to explore Oxford music online, which includes Grove music online, or browse our own Barbican Library's Barbican song index.

IIMP, the International Index to Music Periodicals, is also available, providing access to over 900,000 articles.

You can also dip into Naxos Music Library or, a recent addition to our resources, Naxos Video Library. Both of these will bring the world's greatest performers and performances into your living room.
